Export a dataset

Export requests and downloads are separate steps. First, you need to submit an export request, which is added to a queue. Once your export is processed and ready for download, you'll receive an email with a link to download your dataset.

Request a dataset export

  • Select the dataset you want to export in the sidebar.

  • Apply any necessary filters to the dataset. Note: If a filter is applied to a dataset, only the filtered data will be exported.

  • Click Export in top right corner to open the export panel.

  • In the export panel, click Start export.

Download a requested export

Once an export is complete, you have two download options:

  1. Click the download link in the email to access the download page in Adept.
  2. Go to the Export section in the sidebar, find the dataset, and use the Download button if the export is ready.

Default filename

The default filename of the exported file contains the timestamp when the export request was made, as well as the export ID.

By default, most browsers save downloaded files to the Downloads folder. If you prefer to choose the download location each time, you need to adjust your browser settings. For step-by-step instructions on changing the download location in different browsers, see this guide on modifying browser download settings.

Managing exports

In the sidebar Export section, you can track your previous exports as well as pending requests. Depending on the user's permissions, different data is displayed in this section:

  • for standard users, only their own exports are shown

  • for admin users: all exports are shown

In addition to the requested exports, this section contains additional information, such as a status column to track export progress or a (hoverable) filter column to see applied filters during an export request.
